The Assessment

The assessor will collect information during their visit noting how the house has been built from the ground up to the roof, noting how they are insulated [if at all] taking into account the age of the house, the age of the double glazing, and the heating system its age all this info will be entered into a computer programme this will do the calculations and produce the EPC. The EPC will also give you the owner / tenant an idea of how efficient the property is, or more importantly how much it's going to cost YOU to heat. At present most of our housing stock is rated in the E band { 46 } You could look at this rating and say that for every £1.00 you spend on gas and electric your only getting £0.46p worth, the other £0.54p is helping the climate warm up!!!
